Announcement: EAAP Workshop on Insects
We are pleased to announce the upcoming EAAP Workshop titled “Insect-IMP: Genetic Improvement, Implementation, and Impact”. This workshop will cover various crucial topics, including genetic diversity, mating behaviour, and the interplay of genetics and environment in farmed insects. The workshop will be held in Athens (Greece) at the Agricultural University of Athens on January 29th – 31st, 2025. Participants can look forward to detailed sessions on designing breeding objectives, phenotyping systems, and estimating breeding values. Additionally, smaller group training sessions will be available, focusing on breeding objectives, quantitative genetics, population simulations, and dissemination techniques. Our esteemed Scientific Committee includes experts such as Gertje Petersen, Christoph Sandrock, Laura Gasco, Sreten Andonov, and several other relevant scientists who are expert in insects farming. The workshop will also feature invited speakers, sponsors dedicated to promoting insect breeding, and theatre and poster presentations. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your knowledge and contribute to the field of insect breeding. Soon EAAP will call for abstracts submissions to participate actively at the workshop. Stay tuned with us to know more in the next weeks.
