EAAP President at the Animal Production and Health Commission for Asia and the Pacific (APHCA)

Joel Berard EAAP President and Head of Division Animal Production Systems and Animal Health at Agroscope, is held his presentation at the conference Animal Production and Health Commission for Asia and the Pacific (APHCA) and Regional Workshop on “Innovations to Support Sustainable Livestock Transformation in the Asia and Pacific Region” taking place from 11th to 14th November 2024, a Khon Kaen, Thailand.

His speech highlights that a sustainability in livestock nutrition system should be based on Site-adapted arable and livestock production where animal productions play an essential role in food supply by closing production cycles. This is expected to build on Permanent grasslands and Temporary grasslands and use of Alternative sources of energy and proteins like Agroforestry, by- and former food- products and algae.

EAAP expresses his gratitude for inviting our President to participate the events to Daniela Battaglia, Felix Teillard, Thanawat Tiensin from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Fabian Wahl, Sonja Kay, Fredy Schori, Anna-Maria Reiche, Marco Tretola, Sylvain Lerch, Pierre Mariotte, Andreas Lüscher from Agroscope who contributed to Joël’s presentation.
