Highlights from the Mountain Livestock Farming Systems Meeting 2024

The Mountain Livestock Farming Systems Meeting has concluded. Co-organized by EAAP, VetAgro Sup, and INRAE, the event took place in Clermont-Ferrand, the capital of Auvergne, from June 5th to 7th, 2024. The overarching theme of the congress was the adaptation of mountain livestock farming to climate change. Various sessions were organized to explore interactions between farming systems and wildlife, product quality in
mountain farming, and other related topics. Throughout the conference, specialists in livestock farming systems networked, engaging in discussions both during sessions and informally, such as during social events and technical tours. EAAP committed to continuing support for this workshop and, along with Swiss representatives, extended an invitation to the next Mountain Livestock Farming Systems Meeting scheduled for July 1st to 3rd, 2026, in Switzerland.
