Passing the Torch: Isabel Casasús Hands Over EAAP Presidency to Joël Berárd
The European Federation of Animal Science at the recent Annual Meeting in Florence witnessed the passing of leadership from Isabel Casasús to the new President, Joël Berárd. Isabel’s four-year tenure was marked by significant challenges, particularly as she assumed her role during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, Isabel demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the EAAP through a period of remarkable growth and development. Under Isabel’s presidency, the association saw its individual membership numbers rise from 4,000 to 6,000. Attendance at the annual meetings surged, with a 40% average increase in participation compared to previous years. Additionally, readership of the EAAP Newsletter grew from 1,000 to 3,000. Notably, during Isabel’s Presidency the EAAP workshops were introduced two years ago, which have become a valuable addition to the organisation’s offerings. Throughout this period, she also managed to control the finances of the EAAP, ensuring its continued success. As Isabel steps down, the EAAP expresses deep gratitude for her expertise and dedication. The organisation now warmly welcomes Joël Berárd as its new President, confident that he will continue to drive the positive momentum and further enhance the association’s impact over the next four years.
