The EAAP annual issue of Animal Frontiers available
The New Animal Frontiers issue managed by EAAP, “Social aspects of livestock farming around the globe”, is already available. Dr Gesa Bush was the guest editor and organized the first Animal Frontiers publication of 2023. Through six interesting articles this specific release explains how livestock farming provides food security, income, cultural and religious significance, and ecosystem services, but also the negative impacts on food production sustainability and the global climate crisis. Human-animal relationships shape livestock care and impact public views of the industry. Animal welfare issues have led to discussions about livestock farming’s future. Different social aspects of livestock farming are prominent in different regions of the world, depending on economic situation and natural conditions. The articles in this Animal Frontiers issue aim to discuss the challenges and complex tasks that livestock perform in different parts of the world.
